World leaders at the COP 28 climate summit reached an agreement that could speed up the transition to a greenr economy and keep the world on track to the climate goals of the Paris Agreement.
We published a storymap published a year ago, based on the update of the ESPON CLIMATE project -that were presented at the COP 27- that are still much valid and relevant, as they provide evidence to hlep us understand how and to which degree climate change may impact the competitiveness and cohesion of European regions and Europe as a whole. Most of the risks are expected to increase in the future due to climate change effects, related to the progressive variation of climatic conditions as well as to the occurrence of extreme events of higher intensity, duration and frequency.
