Vulnerability, REsilience and REcovery POlicies of the physical living environment (VREPO)
December 21, 2023
February 19, 2024
EUR 250,000.00
This Targeted Analysis aims to contribute to the development of resilience strategies for the physical living environment, based on evidence of the vulnerability. Although many types of crises influence a territory, surely crises and disasters with huge impact on the physical living environment are at the root of innovative strategies.
Stakeholders aim to improve their policy responses with a better understanding of territorial consequences related to different crises, especially when confronted with uncertainties, pressures and possible ‘black swan’ events. To foster the resilience of their territories, this targeted analysis shall further investigate factors and dynamics related to policies in the disaster Risk Management Cycle (DMC).
Overall, the results of the targeted analysis will contribute identifying the best suited place-based approaches for developing regional place-based resilience strategies. This will be achieved by having a closer look to a limited set of territorial vulnerabilities linked to calamities in the physical living environment. The analysis will be performed in selected regions in order to compare their respective vulnerabilities and degrees of resilience.
