Territorial Cooperation for Blue Renewable Energy - COBREN
News articles
The European research project "Territorial Cooperation for Blue Renewable Energy" aims to provide evidence on how European countries and regions coordinate and cooperate in maritime spatial planning and land-sea interactions -focusing on offshore renewable energy and related land use.
The project will study the entire ESPON Programme area targeting coastal, islands and outermost regions to identify sea-use conflicts, synergies and negative externalities of offshore renewable energy resources and to identify good practices on how to resolve such issues, especially with a cross-border dimension.
Additionally, COBREN intends to analyse the links between national maritime spatial planning and national energy and climate plans and their connection with the Maritime Spatial Planning Directive.
The project results will provide policy advice to policymakers and practitioners to support them in increasing the production and use of offshore renewable energy sources in their territories.
More news and relevant content about the project will be shared soon on our website.
